Year: 2004 Tagg: Alyssa....at the time Farris The night air floated past his open window as he drove home on the Queens Bridge, Nikos was just whirling from the day. Just letting the passing headlights drum away as he thought about everything he went through during the day with his new patient. Raking his long fingers through his hair, he made his way into Queens from Manhatten. It was rather late at night which made the traffic that much lighter, which seemed to calm his nerves when he was able to step hard on the peddle and let his car take him to the extreme. One down fall of his powers was letting everything bug him, for when he stepped out of the that padded room all eyes were upon him, as the hushed hurried thoughts of those around him of how he managed to succeed, to bring the one girl with the most power they had seen in years. Yet somehow he managed to pursuade her to change her mind and join the Company. Deep down he knew she would be a caseload especially with all the paperwork he had to deal with which made him have a headache. Which in turn made him assholeish and mean, for paperwork was his worst nightmare.
Finally he pulled into the driveway, placing his new Toyota in park, Nikos looked up to the house. Here they had been married for three years and been dating for eight years, and now as he looked up he had a certain lusting as he noted the kitchen light was still on. Smirking lightly, he turned the car off and got out, his shoes landing smoothly on the pavement, as he head towards the frontdoor. Placing his hand on the door knob he heard the faint beeping sound of his car locking up for the night. Walking silently into the room, he toke off his leather coat in the closet taking in the smell of the house. Feeling his cells float around in lust and want for his wife, this was definatly a need he couldn't get away with a simple loving and roll around the bed, for tonight would be a night to remember.
Slipping through the living room, Nikos stopped by the drink counter and poured himself a whiskey on the rocks, walking out towards the kitchen. With the ice clinking against the glass, he leaned against the wall leading into neighboring room. Letting his icy blue eyes scan the room as his cells blustered with lust as his guard was completly down which was one thing he enjoyed about being home. Smelling the sweet aroma of flowers lifting towards his nostrils, scanning through the kitchen he waited for her to make an appearence. "Alyssa?" His voice was deep as it seemed the lust was bursting out of him, for it sounded dangerous.

JUST ONE LOOK FROM YOU TAKES MY BREATH AWAY.
heaven is beautiful. One good thing about working this late had to have been the fact that even when she came home at eleven pm at night, her husband still wasn’t home. Most women would take that rather cautiously, but Alyssa knew Nikos; and knew the work he had to deal with—and exactly what he did. Though she never approved of his job, she had never held it against him. It was his own freewill to do whatever he pleased, and if he thought that capturing and imprisoning others like him was for the sake of the greater good, then so be it. Alyssa only wanted him to be happy with whatever he did; she had never been much of a pushy person. Dressed in a pair of old pajamas and a shirt that belonged to Nik, she pushed herself through the shelves of the kitchen looking for her packets of spaghetti for dinner. At least she had enough time to make him a meal by the time he got home, and cooking released the vast amounts of stress that she had building deep inside her mind—especially from a rough day’s worth of work.
If she didn’t have Peter by her side during those long hours of hell, she didn’t know what she would do; possibly kill herself. Shaking her head, she pulled out her cutting board along with the boxes of spaghetti. Setting her cutting board on the kitchen counter Alyssa began to chop up the fresh tomatoes for the sauce—at least as fresh as it could get. Moving to New York had never been an idea of hers—sure the city was beautiful in its own way, but it still—Alyssa loved Chicago, the people here were too—noisy for her taste—but Nik swore he couldn’t tell the difference. A small smile crossing her features as she thought about her husband—she began piling up the tomatoes, onions, and garlic for the sauce, before allowing themselves to sizzle against the pan heated with butter; the soft aroma of pasta swirling in the air, Alyssa walked back toward her fridge pulling out a nice bottled of chilled wine. It wasn’t much for dinner—but she hoped he would appreciate it. Alyssa didn’t have time to put together a full fledged meal—but hopefully this would satisfy him just the same.
Resting her hip against the counter, her eyes settled back towards the ticking clock once more—wondering when he was going to get home. It seemed as if he was running even more later than usual—it was already nearing one `o clock in the morning. Letting out a slow sigh, she hummed to herself softly—she just wanted to be in his arms tonight, for some reason he had been on her mind all day, and Alyssa had purposefully resisted phoning him—even had to stop herself, she knew just how much he hated being bothered at work. Feeling a slight annoyance coming on about his tardiness—she just tried to focus on something else. He could have called her to let her know that he was running late—but it probably seemed like too much of a bother for him. Sometimes she was just tempted to stay out as late as he did to test his reaction—but Alyssa wasn’t cunning enough to secede in an attempt at teaching him a lesson.
Walking back toward the boiling pasta, Alyssa stirred it with a wooden spoon, to see if it was ready to be drained and added to the slowly simmering sauce—smiling widely, she noted that the pasta was done; carefully removing the pot away from the gas stove, she poured the water down the sink—feeling the steam of the hot water hitting her face, making tiny droplets of water vaporize along her cheeks. Waiting for the water to drain—Alyssa picked up the pasta drainer and shook it lightly—dragging all the excess water out of the noodles, before pouring them in the rick simmering sauce. Twirling and moving the pasta with her wooden spoon, she mixed the contents together until everything was well and set. Finally having been done with cooking dinner—Alyssa turned off the stove tops in the kitchen and made her way into her bedroom for a quick shower—maybe he would be home by the time she got out—Alyssa was more tired than she was hungry at the moment.
It didn’t take long for her clothes to come off and the wet droplets of water touching her tanned body. The cool droplets of water felt like heaven on her skin—she could practically feel the tension from the hard day’s worth of work pouring out of her system, leaving her so clean and fresh, with nothing else prodding her mind. Staying in the shower for fifteen whole minutes did Alyssa finally turn down the water and wrapped a towel around her body and step out. Drying her body—she hummed a song that had been playing restlessly in the Hospital today—it was rather catchy and nothing being able to help herself—Alyssa too had caught the Matt Kearney bug, and she too was singing “Closer to Love” whenever she could. Still clad in her towel, she stepped out of her bathroom, which clung to her body. She wondered whether or not Nikos was home yet—and just as she thought it, she heard a ruffling in the kitchen.
Her heart skipping a beat—she almost felt him walking through the house—his cheeks red, his hair a mess as usual, and those beautiful eyes searching for her, not bothering to put on a shirt—she wrapped the towel tighter around her body, before almost running to the kitchen. Her name echoed through the apartment, in that sweet deep voice of his—and somehow—tonight it seemed like her calling. Finally reaching the kitchen—she saw his silhouetted frame near the dining table, and smiling softly at the love of her life, she walked up to him and closed the distance between them, pressing a soft kiss full on his mouth. “Welcome home, love.” MUSE: NIKOS WORD COUNT: 1163 LISTENING TO: CLOSER TO LOVE - MATT KEARNEY CREDITS:EMMA.
